His life. The Music. Saitenklänge
The Süddeutsche Zeitung speaks of "fascinating technology", the Spanish "El País" raves after a concert by the "terrific German guitarist" how "easily he was able to inspire the entire audience" and the Chicago Tribune calls him "a fantastic guitarist". These reviews are representative of the worldwide successful career of the busy musician and lecturer, who has won several international awards.
Hardly any guitarist before him has managed to record almost all important classical guitar concertos with renowned orchestras on CD. Christian Reichert has brought out a series exclusively for the American label "MMO", which brought him worldwide attention from the trade press.
In addition to the CDs for "MMO", Reichert has made numerous recordings for the German label "Waterpipe Records" and also for the "Bayerischer Rundfunk", "Hessischer Rundfunk", "SWR", "Telewizja Polska" and the "WDR".
After studying the classical guitar extensively with some of the greatest virtuosos of our time, he completed the concert and soloist exam with the highest distinction. His teachers include Roberto Aussel (Argentina), Sonja Prunnbauer (Germany), Manuel Barrueco and Leo Brouwer (Cuba), Roland Dyens and the two Grammy winners Alvaro Pierri and Sharon Isbin.
There was also a semester of "lied accompaniment" with Dietrich Fischer Dieskau, one of the most important lied singers of the 20th century.
Already during his guitar studies in Würzburg, Freiburg and Cologne he received numerous important international prizes at important guitar competitions in Europe such as at the international guitar competition "Andrés Segovia" in Spain, 1st prize at the competition of the "International Guitarfoundation" in Plovdiv or 1st prize. Prize at the International Music Competition in Frankfurt am Main.
Reichert has worked as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hessian Radio Orchestra, the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sofia Radio Orchestra, the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra Cameralna Bratislava, to name just a few. Concert engagements and teaching activities therefore take him regularly throughout Europe and the USA.
In addition to his work as a classical guitarist, Reichert also works with pop stars and television actors. He is a sought-after studio guitarist, both with the acoustic guitar and as an electric guitarist in the fields of pop, rock and film music.
He also works as a conductor, composer and arranger and, more recently, as the author of the book "99 questions about the guitar".
